First take backup from files and databases.

Then update modules and themes. Not all in one time. After updating bunch of modules etc run database updates.

Best way to make updates is using composer.

To see what modules needs update: 

composer outdated "drupal/*"

If it is preventing to update use composer to see what prevents. Like here:

composer prohibits drupal/core 10.2.5
